Saturday on KIX 102 FM, Casey Kasem hosts an “American Top 40” show that originally aired during this week in 1982. We’ll hear a whole lot of MTV and movie tunes — Jackson Browne with “Somebody’s Baby” from “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and Survivor’s “Eye of The Tiger” from “Rocky III.” Elsewhere, Men at Work have a great video and their first hit with “Who Can It Be Now.” And… Steve Miller works magic with “Abracadabra,” hoping to spend a second week at #1. Enjoy classic “American Top 40” on KIX 102 FM this Saturday from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m., with an encore presentation from 8 p.m. – midnight.
Sunday on “American Top 40,” hear the biggest songs from this week in 1972. Enjoy the first hit for teen-aged Aussie Rick Springfield, “Speak to the Sky.” This week’s Countdown will also marks the first time we are hearing modern day classics “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)” by Looking Glass, “Saturday in the Park” by Chicago, and one that made it by the censors: ”My Ding A Ling” by Chuck Berry. Meanwhile, Three Dog Night and Mac Davis duke it out for the week’s #1 song. Listen to the Countdown, Casey’s stories, and the Long Distance Dedications every Sunday from 9 a.m. – noon, only on KIX 102 FM.
