Two downtown farmers’ markets, the Eno River Farmers Market in Hillsborough and the Durham Farmers’ Market in Durham, are hosting tomato events Saturday morning. At both events you can taste plenty of tomatoes and vote for your favorite.

If you haven’t seen the sunflower fields at Dix Park in Raleigh, you need to do that, and soon. They’re in full bloom right now. It’s the best photo op in the city. Celebrate the sunflowers and summer at SunFest. There will be live music, a photo booth, arts and crafts for kids, lots of food trucks, beer and cider.
